Davis Square Task Force meets Mon 4/30, 7 pm

The Davis Square Task Force meets next Monday, April 30, at 7 pm at the Senior Center, 167 Holland Street. Here's the agenda:

7:00-7:10 - Intros

7:10-7:25 - Mayor Curtatone and the Hotel study

7:25-7:40 - Update on Buena Vista garage construction from Gerald Boyle, Director of Capital Projects for the City of Somerville

7:35-7:50 - Burren 2am License - mandatory 8 week update

7:50-8:10 - Steve Winslow, OSPCD planner, to speak on the expansion of the bike path

8:10-8:25 - Business updates in Davis including news on La Contessa Bakery, Someday Cafe and Sacco's Bowl Haven, One Davis Square construction, former RJ Cody's, any other space people would like to discuss

8:25-8:30 - Next meeting date

Hey Ron -- I won't be able to go to this but if you go can you post a recap? I'm especially interested in whether there are any plans for the RJ Cody space. I'm dying to know who Magpie's new "neighbors" will be. :)

Wow, I think it'd be great if we could get a small hotel in the greater Davis square area. I mean a Marriott would kind of suck, but if there were something small like The Kendall, it'd be really great to point my folks to a place where they can stay when they're in town.

I usually go to these meetings, take notes, and post them here on Davis Square LJ.

I'd love to see a small hotel replace a parking lot -- but if it's the Day Street lot, where will the farmer's market go?

Do you have any idea what the bike path extension will entail or websites I could go to find out more?

(Steve sent out an email recently with a subject that suggested there were to be some improvements over in the Assembly Square area, but I couldn't read the embedded object unfortunately.)

I think this is just about some improvements in the Brooks Pharmacy parking lot and busway sidewalk.
