This isn't a Davis-centric PSA (thank goodness), but as we gear up for the usual May/June mass exodus, and the sidewalks flood with random items to be picked over before trash night, I thought y'all might find this article on bedbugs an informative read. I know it seems like common sense to not drag random mattresses in off the street, but hey, these things spread in weird ways.
If you're an inveterate scavenger, or just like giving and getting free stuff, there is a lively Somerville Freecycle community where you won't have to ask yourself, "Why IS this armchair on the curb?"

Date: 2007-04-27 08:38 pm (UTC)You can leave out a few pieces of furniture a week. Any loose trash needs to be in barrels. Or maybe not. The regulations are not exactly clear.
This is the first year since the new trash regulations went into effect. I don't think anyone really knows what is going to happen when the big summer move outs take place.
