Representative Paul Donato will discuss pending legislation related to toxic
compounds in our environment-possibly including House 796 (mercury), House
794, House 814 (perchlorate), and Senate 545 (toxics in toys).
The Energy, Climate and Economic Security Act of 2007
Representative Jim Marzilli will discuss H 3337:
State and local energy policies provide a model for federal action in
helping to save money, protect the environment ,and increase national and
economic security. Rep. Marzilli's Energy, Climate and Economic Security Act
of 2007 creates a comprehensive energy policy for the state based on
conservation and the use of clean, renewable energy sources to power our
economy and enhance our security.
Energy-Efficiency Standards
Representative Carl Sciortino will discuss H 3375:
New technologies in building design and construction have provided us with
tools that will help the Commonwealth reduce its demand for energy and fight
increasing energy prices. This bill requires that state buildings and very
large homes shall be built to energy-efficient standards and provides
additional reimbursements for schools built to energy efficient standards.
The Year of the Mystic
David Jordan, Chief of Staff for Senator Patricia Jehlen, will discuss
various legislative efforts related to the Mystic River, which is proving to
be the "new Charles River" in 2007.
