I was reading the thread of comments in the post about the kitten and wanted to let you all know that I saw today that Big Fish Little Fish is being closed! I don't have any more info, I saw it in the window as we were driving by.

Someone really has to adopt that kitten now! (wish I could :( )

Well, THAT'S irritating. It was the only place within walking distance where I could buy the premium brand of cat food.

Sorry :/ There doesn't seem to be many pet stores in the area now that I think about it. They are a dying breed with all the big chains.

I'm sorry to see the place go because it was convenient, but it was rather substandard for pet shops in terms of cleanliness. When I went in there last time for crickets, the clerk was hanging out with a friend who was smoking in the store. My bag of crickets had a lot of dead ones (I'm used to some) and strange large beetle larva (or other) that were in no way, shape, or form crickets in any stage of development.

There's must be other reasons as well why my friends warned me not to go to "Ghetto Pets".

I went in there yesterday for a while. The owner was apparently in a serious car accident, and can't keep it going. They'll be closing at the end of December.

That's too bad...Although I must admit, it was always a kinda dark and creepy place.
