Guy playing guitar/harmonica in Davis tonight...

Does anyone know who the guy was who was playing guitar/harmonica in Davis Square tonight (Saturday night)? He was playing a bunch of Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, and Neil Young songs and did a nice rendition of each...he kind of set a nice tone for everyone who was hanging out in the square tonight.

If anyone knows who he is and when/where he usually plays, please tell! My friends and I would like to be around when he is around again...

Not trying to be a troll at all, but that guy is out there ALL the time... almost every weekend since the weather has gotten nice. If you work or live in the center part of the square where you constantly hear whatever is going on out there, his act gets really old.... he plays the same songs basically each set... I wish him no harm, but it would be nice if he rotated squares with other musicians or something!

Plus, how about some original material/arrangements....

On the subject... what is the protocol for performers - anyone know? What happens, for example if a different band/performer wants to play in Davis, but Mr. Folky is already there... do they move on, wait for a break, talk to each other? Because variety would be nice!

We (ensmb.livejournal.com) had a bit of a fight for space when we played in the square last thursday. Basically there's no scheduling or protocol for who gets to play there, not even any permits needed. If you're there and playing, you've claimed the space and can be a jerk if you want.

We asked the guy nicely if he'd let us play a bit that night, since he'd been there all day (literally) and we'd spread the word a bit that we were playing. He hemmed and hawed, but eventually said "ok, come back in an hour and I'll let you have the space."

Agreed. The first time was okay, but it gets old. Not that I don't support live performers. I think it's great that people can perform. I just wish that he didn't hog the space, as apparently (according to the comments below) he does.
