UPS delivered a large package from Target.com to my front porch yesterday. This was a surprise, because I had not ordered anything. It was addressed to Steven P., which was also a surprise because I'm not Steven P. Nor do I know anyone by that name. The address, though, was definitely mine. It was late, so I decided to deal with it today.
I found Target's customer support number and called them. They asked me to open the package to find the bill so we could track down who had ordered it. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a gift for Steven, so all there was, was a card and the gift itself.
None of the magic identifying numbers on the outside of the box helped, so the nice lady at Target recommended that I donate this item to charity.
However, before I do that, I thought I'd ask the Davis Square community. I figure he's probably my neighbour, and somebody out there knows him. Do any of you know Steven P.? If you do, reply to this post telling me what birthday he's celebrating, and we'll see if we can get his present to him.
Edit: I know who's lived here for the past 10 years, and it's not Steven P. And I know for certain that Steven doesn't have an email address or phone number, so he's not in a directory anywhere.
Second edit: Little Steven's first birthday will be happier, now that his gift has been delivered. Also, I've hidden his last name now so that robots can't find him.
ron_newman sleuthed it out online.
