Where to find a handyperson...?

Our absentee landlady has agreed to fund the numerous repairs needed on our apartment (yay!) but she's not sure who to call. Can anyone suggest a handyperson who could do things like installing smoke detectors, caulking windows, etc.? I know, this is very sad that she doesn't already have someone, but we want to get this going.
