i'm moving from cambridge to somerville. yay :)

anyone have extra boxes i could request for moving purposes? i'd love to get a head start on packing this weekend. please let me know if you have extra sturdy receptacles, cardboard or otherwise. thanks!

the best place for boxes is always bookstores. they get tons of them and they're small enough to only fit enough in each box that when completely full you can still lift them without killing yourself, plus they only ever had books in them so they're fairly clean. if you stop by and ask a manager to set them aside for you, you can normally get a whole bunch for free. :)

I have about a dozen that I just broke down- reply / email if you want them and I'll put them on the porch for you. You'll need packing tape to re-assemble them.

and, the borders at downtown crossing puts boxes out almost every night. they're nice and flat and taped together in bundles. they're usually out there around 7is or maybe later.

i would recommend clean newsprint (for breakables) from uhaul, though. afaik, they had the best price for that when i last compared. it saves a lot because you don't get the ink all over your hands and stuff you're packing/unpacking & then it can go in recycing.
