Which grocery store?

Any recommendations for nearby grocery stores besides Shaws? I absolutely hate that place. It's so crowded, and the prices aren't great. So ideally, some place that's cheaper where you don't bump into someone every 3 seconds.

A challenge...
Date: 2007-07-27 04:47 pm (UTC)Johnny Foodbastard has the worst produce and the prices aren't anything reasonable. It's ghetto in there with that carpet. It's smart to buy dry goods but I wouldn't want to get the blue meat on special-the butchery area is just as bad.
Star Market on Beacon St. is nothing special either. If you have a car, I prefer Trader Joe's on Mem Drive any night of the week past 7 or 8pm when it's not crowded. It may not have everything you need but you can make it everything you need. We are so conditioned to thinking we need a ton of random food but really Trader Joe's has almost everything except more obscure things. The prices are cheaper than most grocery stores and similar caliber to the Bread and Circus. I go every week and have always been happy with them.
