Post Office

My girlfriend told me the Post Office in Davis Square has closed due to the building being condemned. Anyone have more information on this?

I just called them. They told me that they'll be open for package and box pick up only ... for at least a week. I should've asked, "Hey, are y'all condemned?" ... but I lost my nerve.

Box holders will have to come to the front door to receive their mail. Very suspicious!

I have no clue about this but it sounds like what happens when they renovate a post office...

It's on Day Street, just off Holland.

And in fact, that sounds remarkably similar to the signs up by the Winter Hill post office, which from what I can tell is actually renovating.

During the record cold a pipe burst and the place was flooded. The floor was all f'd up when I went in there a couple of days ago. They are still sorting mail, adn PO boxes are still available. Hopefully the rest of the operation will resume this week.
