I was just there 10 minutes ago and the traffic light was out, there was a cop directing traffic, and the power was out at the Diesel Cafe. Also there were some fire engines around, but I don't know if that's related.

Power still seems to be on in the Northwest part of Davis.

(Although we've had lots of small power outages in the past few weeks.)

I'm just a block or two away from Store 24 off College Ave, and I've got power... no idea how widespread it is. Or if it's even happening anymore.

Maybe that explains why Harvard Vanguard isn't picking up their phones. My doc's line is non-stop busy, and when calling the main line it says something about a building safety issue causing nobody to be there.

... but it's spelled "Gigawatt", not "Jigawatt". You can, however, PRONOUNCE it either way (with a hard or soft leading G).

Power went out in my Day Street apartment around 10:30. As I walked to the T station I noticed it was also out at the bowling alley, post office, Mr. Crepe, and Somerville Theatre. A passerby told me it was also out at Starbucks, but I didn't walk that way.

The T station had power -- all of the lights, gates, and Charlie machines worked normally, although I didn't hear the usual "Next train to Ashmont is arriving" announcements.
