Hello all!

A youngish, Male Chocolate Lab was found on Francesca Ave last Wednesday, August 1st.    If anyone knows someone who is missing a dog that fits this description, Somerville Animal Control would love to get him back to his family.

617-625-6600 ext 2190.

Thanks!

Except that the other missing Chocolate Lab is female, and went missing almost a week after this one was apparently found.

Yes, they are likely unrelated.

However, it makes sense to point someone to it, as the overall coincidences of someone losing and someone else finding a lab in the Davis area are relatively low, and the chances of people misstating facts on the internet are relatively high.

Definitely good points.
Well, let's hope someone was wrong, anyway... as the owner of a half chocolate lab, if I were animal control, I'd want to get it back to its owners as soon as possible, too. :) Way too hyper.

Back when they were actually in Davis Square, the Somerville Journal catnapped a friend's cat, didn't bother to report it in their paper, but did call animal control... and described it as a kitten. The cat was over ten years old. The friend had put up posters all around the Square, but the crack reporters at the Journal missed 'em... but finally she tapped one to their door, and they released the cat.

The Journal is still in Davis Square, but now they're in the Harvard Vanguard building. Before that, they were in the Social Security building, and before that, they were across Summer Street from the Dilboy Post VFW.

You might want to notify the local vet clinics, especially Porter Square Veterinarian on Summer Street.

Glad to hear the female was found, at least.

One more thing-- did Animal Control check for a microchip?

(preferably a single, childless woman)

I'm sure there are solid reasons for this in terms of canine psychology, but it sure sounds like the beginnings of a personal ad:

Single brown dog ISO single woman for snuggles and fetch. No mamas please. Interest in dead smelly things a plus. Must be ready to confront issues of dominance and hierarchy.
