Moving?

And by in Davis, I mean a 5 minute walk from Davis, 10 minute walk from Porter.

And when I say cheap, I mean the cheapest place ever heard of around here. $306.25 a month. One bedroom in a 4-bed whose total is $1425, but we have it split so that the smallest room pays much less, and this is the smallest room. It's not THAT small, there's a closet, it could comfortably fit a desk and a bed and shelves and drawers, but there isn't a ton of room for moving about.

2 amazing cats live here and we would consider a dog but no more cats, because I would fear for a third.

3 amazing roommates. We get along very, very well. I'm an artist, the other two are musicians, and we are all very supportive of each other's work. I'm a girl, the other two are guys, ages 31, 26, and 24. We are FAIRLY clean. It never gets out of hand and we all contribute to keeping the house stocked with necessities and liveable for everyone. We're all honest and courteous and we prefer to get along. No secret bitching about the other roommates. We are generally quiet but we have our moments, no loud parties or anything, just minor socializing and beer drinking and fun. Gay/etc friendly, everything friendly, liberal, tolerant, etc etc

Location: Mass Ave, above the bar Joe Sent me. Near AMAZING restaurants. Near Vernas Donut Shop, lord give me strength.

When: September 1st

Description:
-the room available is not noisy at all (not facing Mass Ave)
-Pretty roomy kitchen
-coin op laundry downstairs
-probably storage in basement if direly necessary but that's not a guarantee... it looks like nobody has been down there since the 40s.
-hardwood floors
-utilities NOT included, but I'd say no more than another $100-$120 a month for everything total
-internet but no cable, we don't really do tv
-inconveniently small living room
-no AC (we don't want one around, either. trying to conserve energy and money)

If you're interested or have questions or want more info, email me at lhsalk at gmail.

Our other roommate DICKED us over last minute. Waited until we'd all signed the lease after promising he would stay, and then waited until late last week to tell a mutual friend he was moving. The mutual friend told us, not him. GRR. Grr. I wanted to try posting here before resorting to craigslist.

Ooh ooh, my sister might be interested in this! Only thing, she does have a cat... is there any flexibility in your hearts on that front? I can assure you, he is the most mellow, affectionate and lovable of cats (and has lived with other animals many times, incl. dogs, cats, & gerbils, and he's always totally chill).

I'm very interested!!!
I'm a Tufts grad and I really want to move back to the area.
23/f, quite small (so a small room suits just fine.)
I don't have email at work, but I'd love to talk to you!
Any chance I could call you/ stop by soon?

You must walk blazingly fast. I live on Dudley Street (it's that street at the corner where the dry cleaners/Greek Corner is), and admittedly I'm 3 or 4 blocks back, but it takes me about 10 minutes to Davis and nearly 20 to Porter. I mean, it's a great location, no doubt about it (and I'd have been interested if I didn't have a cat!), but boy, it gets old seeing people say things like "5 minutes to Davis!" when trust me, I've lived 5 minutes from the T and anything more is very obviously not.

I must just be really slow then - I can't do 3/4 of a mile in 8-10 unless I'm rushing myself. To be fair, it never occurred to me to take a shortcut across the bike path to Davis, and that probably speeds it up a bit!

Sorry if I sounded combative. Don't usually make comments like that, and I suppose apartment hunting stress got to me.

Hi again.
Don't mean to be pushy, but I'm seriously interested, and I don't want my posting to get lost in the shuffle.

I'm temping for The Man in Boston (though I'm a theatre tech, when at all possible.)
Please, please hit up the email- I live with relatives and I'm not sure how much longer I can take it!
After I've had coffee in the North End to fortify me for my commute back to Melrose, you can bet I'll be checking my email first thing.

could you cut down your text in the lj cut?

lj-cut text= will not wordwrap whatever your text is, in many browsers, and causes a scroll bar requirement.

Thanks.

I apologize, it was someone else's post, using preformatted text and fixed width font.

Thanks for being understanding and trying to help out!
