I have a ton of cardboard to be recycled -- unfortunately it's not in box form or I'd just save it all.

I looked on the city website and can't find anything about a drop off place for cardboard.  There's a drop off place for other paper, but it expressly says no cardboard.

The cardboard is enough to fill an SUV, so it's not the type of thing I can just leave by the curb (I think).  Any hints about what to do with it???

I don't think there's any limit to how much recycling you can put out in a given week.

Cardboard should be broken down into 3x3 pieces though. The instructions say it should be tied together, but in my experience as long as it's reasonably neatly collected that's good enough. (Just think about making it easy for the recycling folks to pick up.)

It's 2x2 pieces and I've gotten yelled at for not tying it up (literally... I was watering my plants and they yelled at me when they were picking it up). That said, I don't think there is a limit.

Really recycled?

Is the cardboard picked up curbside really recycled? The times I've seen them pick it up it sure looked like they tossed it in the truck with the trash.

I also noticed them just throwing it in the trash truck, which also made me wonder about it. I'm curious if I had not prepared the cardboard to the satisfaction of the recycle crew and so they left it for the trash guys?

I also don't think there's a limit to how much you put out. But if you care, then maybe you could just put it out a bit at a time over two or three weeks.

I've put out cardboard a number of times, watched them pick it up several of those, or saw what was on the curb between recycling and trash trucks, and I can say I've NEVER seen it go in the recycling truck. Now it's possible there's a secret hatch somewhere for cardboard, but it's not with the other recycled stuff. (And I have always folded or cut it to size & tied up the bundle.)
