Midnight Jackhammering

So it's 23:00 now and there are jackhammers going strong in the center of the square out in front of the T stop. If it's still going when I (try to) go to sleep in a couple hours, I'll be annoyed. At the moment, I'm just curious. Anyone know what's going on?

I think there was a water main leak, since when I walked past JP Licks this evening there was a sign indicating they were closed due to a water main leak. So I suppose that would merit midnight jackhammering.

When I came home tonight around 9:00 there were large holes torn in College Ave right in front of the station. I don't know precisely what was going on, but it looked like utility work.

They're no longer jackhammering, but they're still working. I asked the cop on duty what they were working on, and he said "Sinkhole".

Sawr a sinkhole once in aught-three. Swallered an entire circus, it did. Damnedest thing I ever seen.
