This store is awesome. I'm very happy with the quality of merchandise and I wish them much success in Davis Square.
I bought some amazing jewelry, a Davis Square shirt, a box of almond soaps, a "Lucky Pennies" sign for my back entry and a few other things.

Just like any new business, it takes time to work out the kinks, house a good inventory and find a balance of creating the vision that is in harmony and compatible with the neighborhood and the market. And so far, they're doing a great job. I'm looking forward to popping in on a regular basis. They are friendly and helpful, and I'm going back!

And even if you're not in the market for buying something, you have to check out the switch plate on the wall to the left as you come in the door. It's the coolest copper design. It's official, I'm in love.

A new LJ user just happens to post a very complimentary post about a new local business?

Call me skeptical, but I'm skeptical.

she also posted some very uncomplimentary things about Wainwright Bank today, and I don't think she's that new.

True enough, although I found the store charming when I visited a few weeks ago and I got a kick out of all the GHP mashups playing on the stereo. I'll visit again.

She has posted here before. As a moderator, I'd like to discourage this kind of sniping.

Go Home Productions (http://www.gohomeproductions.co.uk/), a.k.a. Mark Vidler. A hundred of his best creations have a permanent place on my iPod.

Sad that he seems to be withdrawing from the mashup scene to focus on other stuff. Can't say that I blame him.

Are you a shill for D squared?

Certainly sounds that way to me.

Y'know, it's okay to tell us about your own (or your friend's/family's/etc), but the community will take it a whole lot better if you're honest about the situation.

I think no more than other recent posts here were "shills" for Alfresco, Bloc 11, Taipei Tokyo, or Wild Oats.

If there's anything I've learned from the internet, it's usually that a post as effusive as yours is to be suspected. My apologies for offending you.

And no thanks; I don't wear jewelry.

forgive them, there are a lot of people who pull this kind of thing on LJ more frequently than we'd like.

To be fair to the snipes, the first thing I did was check the poster's info/recent posts and I came up with the same conclusion that there is some sort of relationship between the poster and the shop. It certainly seems that way.

But they are also being jerks.

I can't remember it ever happening in this community before. It's a very inappropriate reaction.
