only saw the sign driving by but in the block of stores where the cupcake place is - one of the empty store fronts has a sign with "When Pigs Fly" and "opening soon" and "fresh bread". Could be a joke

OR it could be that there will FINALLY be a place in Davis to buy decent bread. Yay!

(and then I can go to BSC to work off the carbs. See, the creator has a master plan...)

Huh. I'm surprised. This isn't listed on their website but I saw a When Pigs Fly "company store" when I was in Camden, Maine. Camden is one of those towns where the center has become shoppy-shop central -- in that canned quaint kind of way with stores like, Stonewall Kitchen store, Yankee Candle store, etc.

I have a few further thoughts:

1. I really like their bread and it's hard to find good fresh baked bread in that area, so this is great if they do come here

2. It would be funny if someone really did mean the sign as a joke! like... "Fresh Baked Bread -- Ha! When pigs fly!"

3. If they are moving in there, they must be taking over more than one space? I can't imagine that any of those three remaining empty alone would be enough room to bake, display and sell bread.

When I talked with the guy selling WPF bread at the farmer's market a couple of weeks ago, he mentioned that there might be a more local (than ME) storefront opening up, but they'd still be bringing the bread down from ME; the owners don't want to have more than one actual bakery. (I know they bring it to the Kittery store from the bakery too.)

Oops. I think maybe I was wrong when I said I saw one in Camden, ME. Come to think of it, it might have been in Freeport, ME. Just don't want any of you to mistakenly drive 4 hrs to Camden only to find there's not one there! ;)

Looks to me like they're taking just one storefront. Another one has a sign saying it will soon hold "The Green House", a florist.
