only saw the sign driving by but in the block of stores where the cupcake place is - one of the empty store fronts has a sign with "When Pigs Fly" and "opening soon" and "fresh bread". Could be a joke

OR it could be that there will FINALLY be a place in Davis to buy decent bread. Yay!

(and then I can go to BSC to work off the carbs. See, the creator has a master plan...)

Though it's a bit of a hike from Davis Square, Iggy's Bread of the World has delicious fresh bread. Iggy's sells to lots of restaurants in the area. It's pretty cheap if you buy it direct from the bakery--$3 for a loaf. There's a huge price break once you get away from the Iggy's bread marked up at the supermarket.
The Iggy's store is located on Fawcett St, which is off of Concord Ave near Fresh Pond. There are buses from Harvard that go along Concord, or you can walk the bike path to Alewife and then down Fresh Pond Parkway.
And their bread (and bagels!) keep pretty well if you put them in plastic bags in the fridge.

All my friends love Iggy's. The only problem for me is that Iggy's doesn't have kosher certification... and When Pigs Fly does.

Another benefit of going to the Iggy's bakery is that you can buy their amazing cookies (not cheap, but delicious.) I used to go there fairly often when I lived near Fresh Pond, but not so often now, since I'm in Somerville and the Walden Street bridge is closed.
