Joey's Thai Cafe opened today
Nov. 20th, 2007 10:40 pmJoey's Thai Cafe at 195 Elm Street (in front of Willoughby and Baltic) opened today. I haven't had a chance to try the food, but it smelled really good. Their menu is slightly different than Benjapon's, so if you are in the area you should stop by and pick up a new menu. They have delivery from 5-10pm, and will be open Monday through Saturday.

Date: 2007-11-21 04:16 am (UTC)I think Benjapon (really nice person) wasn't there long enough to say if she would have ultimately been successful. I think she and her family didn't have as much time to commit to the place as they originally thought , and I understand she's getting married so she had some changes happening and wanted more freedom.
Joey's is also family owned, and they seem very friendly.
It is difficult to believe that I've been there seven years and have seen every one of my neighbors change, but I've been very fortunate in always getting good neighbors.

Date: 2007-11-28 09:12 pm (UTC)They have "Veggie Rolls" (vegetables, raisins, and glass noodles) and crab rangoon instead.
Menu is mostly the Thai basics with some generic Asian thrown in (like teriyaki chicken). No papaya salad or Thai wraps.
