Snow alerts to cell phone?
Dec. 2nd, 2007 06:37 pmSo I dumped my landline and don't miss it except that now I won't get those robo calls alerting me to the often impetuous decisions to declare a snow emergency. Anyone know if it is possible to register a cell phone to get those msgs? I got whacked with a snow emergency tow last year and it was not as much fun as getting a root canal- so like, what's the point...
Happy first snow!

Residents can sign up for Connect CTY by calling the city’s 311 constituent service center, or by visiting the city’s website at www.somervillema.gov. The website also features a downloadable copy of the new snow procedures brochure. “You can get snow alerts by phone or by email, and you can receive them on your work or cell phone as well as your home phone – but you have to sign up in order to give us your preferences.”
