  I am looking for other women who would like to go skiing this season.
 I am going to try to get to Wachusett Mt. at least once a week, starting this week, and it would be nice to have some company.  It would also motivate me to get out of bed on cold mornings if I knew someone else was waiting for me to pick them up and go!

I have a car and will be driving to the Mt. from Davis Square.  I will need to get breakfast down the square before I go.  Oh, and I am not one of those "get up at 5am" skiers so I will be going at a reasonable time in the morning like around 8am. 

If it works out well, and there are several people interested. then maybe we can talk about having an informal Davis Square (or Somerville) outing club.

Any chance there are some cross-country trails there? I never really liked downhill but would love to do some nordic skiing this winter.

Yes there are cross country trails at Wachusett State Park. I wouldn 't mind doing some show shoeing out there.

I'll be out of town most weekends in December, but January is looking good! I'd love to set something up.

yes, i'm really interested in this. i live near davis but don't have a car. i was an avid skiier in college but only have skiied a handful of times since.

Hi Suzybuzz
Do you have skiis/boots etc or will you be renting a the mountain? We could meet at The Diesel and go to the ski area from there. I just need to figure out transporting our skiis etc. If you have your own skiis, how long are they? My skiis are short and fit inside the car.

I am thinking of going this coming Monday or Friday. How does that look for you?

that would be great fun! i had skis but with the move to parabolics, mine are embarrassing. so i have to rent.

i work in higher ed and all the kids are prepping for finals now, so i don't really foresee that i can go before break, except maybe the weekend of the 14th or the 22nd...

otherwise, i'm totally game around new year's and after!

The MBTA runs "ski trains" to Wachusett on weekends, but I've never taken one. It's a regular weekend Fitchburg train that has a special car to hold skis, and that is met by a Wachusett Mountain shuttle bus at Fitchburg.
