I'd like to get my hands on some date molasses and some red miso, and somehow I don't think the Shaw's is going to cut it.

Any thoughts on where I should be looking in the Somerville/Cambridge area?

Oh, and for the date molasses, you may be able to find it at one of the Indian grocers in Central Square.

There is also an Indian grocer outside Teele Square, at the corner of Broadway and North Street. It is pretty comprehensive.

There's a quickie-mart-type-place across from Bread & Butter Konvenience on Mass Ave that has lots of Indian groceries. I forget the name of the place, but it's the one with a sign in the window that says "GOAT".

I think it's Bengali or Pakistani, though that may not matter much. Never been inside.

My roommate bought goat brains there, and he says they took a goat head from a fridge and sawed it in half right in front of him, offering him the eyeballs, too.

Whatever nationality the place is, at least you know where you can buy goat eyes in the Davis Square area!

It's called "Foodland," and at least a few months ago (when I was on a question for palm sugar) they had date molasses.
