Somerville meet-up

Would people be interested in meeting their Somerville/ davis_square neighbors at a local bar sometime in the near future? I'd like to get a sense of the interest in having a social type event. If there is significant interest in this, I'll make another post in a few days letting people know the date/ time/ and location of such an event to get a sense of the number of people who would go. I'd let the choosen bar know ahead of time how many people to expect. Please make suggestions for local places and possible dates.

I do love the Independent. Maybe if we make this a semi-regular thing (as I suggested below), we start at a location in Davis and then future gatherings can venture into a wider radius. :)

Heh, I tried to set something up like this and a combination of my own laziness, poor planning on my part, and sudden time constraints kinda killed it. But it was a lot of fun, and I'd be on board to do it.

That is the beauty of it, you don't have to let people know you are from LJ and then you could get to try to guess who people are in secret.

I would love to meet up, and I vote that if the first one goes well, it turns into a monthly or every-other-month kinda thing.

That's me being selfish, because I'll be out of town a lot over the next few weeks, so I fear I won't be able to make it if this is One Time Only. I'm not asking for it to be planned around my schedule, but I would like more chances. :)

I suggest a weekend, maybe in early evening - which is often happy hour and cheap appetizers! That wouldn't conflict with people's weeknight obligations, and would also give people time to still go to weekend night fun engagements.
