davis_square(Don't you hate these postings? They're always so goddamn heartbreaking. However, since I have to presume Missing, I have to write one myself.)
Abbie the Cat (aka Mr. The Cat) has not been seen in his Hall Avenue home since Sunday morning and we are very worried as to his whereabouts. An indoor cat by nature and necessity, he may have developed wanderlust and poked his snoot outside if a chance had presented itself (I don't know, I was at work all day.) At any rate he is not in any of his usual places, nor behind any interior doors behind which he sometimes finds himself and -- most importantly -- there was no change to his food dish overnight, which is the biggest indicator that he wasn't around.
He is easy to spot: he is a large, 20+ pound longhaired tuxedo cat with big eyes, big white paws, whiskers that look like Salvador Dali met a walrus, and an affectionate streak a mile wide. He will be your best friend if you are trying to eat any kind of people food. (He is especially fond ofburritos anything.)
I'm in the process of contacting Somerville Animal Control and nearby vets to see if someone brought in a large sentient throw rug. We have many neighborhood strays around, however, and some whose owners allow to roam free, so I don't know if Abbie would have been brought in when we live among the feline equivalent of Fagin's gang. However, he's also an extreme creampuff when it comes to confrontation, so he might have been chased somewhere and hurt or frightened or both. I don't know. I'm rambling at this point. I just want my buddy back.

I'm hoping this post won't be necessary and that he'll show up safe and sound soon enough, but I also hope that in the event that he hasn't gone and hidden under a bookcase in the basement, someone else may have a lead for me.
