Davis is packed with young people, who tend to give themselves sports injuries and need physical therapy. So where are all the physical therapists? Harvard-Vanguard's PT unit can't see me for almost three weeks. (Who knows they they need physical therapy three weeks ahead of time?) The one I turned up by Googling (Lazarus Felice PT), according to the person who answered the phone "doesn't do conventional physical therapy" and also doesn't take my insurance; the one at 323 Broadway (according to the current LocalTel Yellow Pages), is actually now in Burlington, according to the guy on the phone. And the next nearest place I've found is in top of Winter Hill. Am I missing some secret hidden building full of physical therapists?

When I needed PT and wanted to be seen sooner than a month away, I ended up going to the Harvard-Vanguard PT at Kenmore.

My co-worker suggests Spaulding Rehab in Medford.

She also says she had the same issue with HV PT. She said she just kept calling asking for cancellations, and they were eventually able to fit her in.

My wife Lisa is a PT there. They are much better than Spaulding near North Station.

FYI, a lot of people get PT for a long period of time...Stroke victims, chronic pain sufferers, people who suffer serious injuries, those recovering from surgery. It's not unusual after an initial visit to be scheduled for multiple weeks of treatment.

I went to Spaulding Rehab in Medford for a sports-related knee injury, and I was very happy with their treatment.

Looks like you found a good option, but I wanted to put in a plug for Cambridge Health Alliance's Occupational and Physical Therapy group @ Assembly Square. I've been very happy with them.

further out, but easy and fast to get to if you drive, is New England Rehab in Woburn (which is actually on the Winchester Line, just past Arlington). they're fantastic, quick, and have a pool!

Just got back from Downtown PT in the North End. If you drive it's about 10 minutes from Somerville.

It looks like you've got an appointment, but I want to put in a good word for Scott at the Marino Center in North Cambridge. He was lots of fun, friendly, and really helped me when my back was out. I also had a pretty easy time getting appointments - he had really convenient hours going into the early evening.

Sounds like you're already set, but I had an excellent physical therapist at Cambridge Hospital when I needed help with my hand.
