Update On White Hen

Things aren't as grim for the former owners of the upscale White Hen as I thought. I spoke with an extremely nice cashier last night who explained it all. It turns out that the store was significantly less profitable for the owner than his other business (real estate), and he wanted to free up his focus for that. He worked things out with corporate to have corporate take over the store for the time being. Most importantly, every employee who wanted to continue working there could do so (some stayed, and some chose to move on).

So, no one lost their job involuntarily, and he said the store is welcoming suggestions and requests from their customers.

Today was the first time I've ever see the sidewalk of the White Hen shoveled. So I was pleased about that.

I would suggest finding a way to get their credit card machine to work more than 10% of the time. That would be a start.
