davis_squareHas anyone had any success getting streetlights fixed in Davis Square? I called two years ago about a streetlight on Chester and Herbert and nothing got done. I called 311 today; we'll see. I have heard anecdotally that NStar runs the streetlights in the city, EXCEPT for the ones in Davis Square. I'm not sure if that's true, or whether it should matter.
Incidentally, if the the streetlight in question were simply out, I wouldn't care because there is another streetlight on the same corner. However, this particular streetlight blinks -- maybe 30 seconds on, then 30 seconds off, repeat. It does not appear to be street level motion that governs the blinking. That's just not right.
