Streetlights, people
Mar. 3rd, 2008 11:03 amHas anyone had any success getting streetlights fixed in Davis Square? I called two years ago about a streetlight on Chester and Herbert and nothing got done. I called 311 today; we'll see. I have heard anecdotally that NStar runs the streetlights in the city, EXCEPT for the ones in Davis Square. I'm not sure if that's true, or whether it should matter.
Incidentally, if the the streetlight in question were simply out, I wouldn't care because there is another streetlight on the same corner. However, this particular streetlight blinks -- maybe 30 seconds on, then 30 seconds off, repeat. It does not appear to be street level motion that governs the blinking. That's just not right.

good luck.

And I also couldn't figure out how to edit my post or add a tag until AFTER there was a response to my post. I'm new to LJ and I'm finding it ... quirky. I'll get the hang of it eventually.

Date: 2008-03-03 09:46 pm (UTC)To the group: I would have taken this discussion off the public thread at this point, BUT I can't figure out how to reply to a post privately. Sorry. Not a big fan of the LJ tools, so far, but this community is invaluable. Your collective patience is appreciated.

You can edit a post at any time. You do not need to wait for other people to comment on it.

Date: 2008-03-03 10:40 pm (UTC)Yes, I see that. My point is that there doesn't seem to be a way to get to this page after posting, until someone comments. In other words, after I post, I end up on the home page (http://community.livejournal.com/davis_square/). But I can't navigate to "this post," (http://community.livejournal.com/davis_square/1171874.html) the page with the buttons, unless someone has left a comment or unless I had an lj-cut in my post. I'm obviously confused, but what am I missing? Thanks in advance.

welcome :)
