if you have problems, i suggest you speak to a moderator. quite frankly i'm not worried about "bad publicity," and i'm rather sick of a bunch of people with nothing better to do worrying about me and "my attitude." how very patriarchial of you all to make sure that me and "my attitude" stay in line. seriously. grow up.

So you are unable to believe that in some work environments, having your boss see that picture on your screen (rather than the mere fact that you're surfing) could get you in trouble? And I don't want to hear an argument about whether your boss should or shouldn't take issue with it. For many of us, being able to surf for a few minutes to take a break from work makes the day a lot more tolerable. We shouldn't have to worry about whether this LJ community is work-safe. While my workplace allows a wide amount of latitude, many people's do not.

You didn't seem to want to listen to the issue originally raised, you just immediately got your back up. This isn't (or shouldn't be) about trashing people, it's about setting community standards so we can keep an open discussion while still remaining work-safe.
