Local Artisan Sign Makers?

Does anyone know any local artisan sign makers. This is for a fun arty project which I can't divulge the details of yet. The people in charge of this project are looking for a sign maker in the Somerville area because it's for a project in Davis Square. They're thinking they'd like a carved wood sign. A pad for a free standing sign in front of the plaza also. A sign survey can be done as our code is set up for smaller neighborhood shopping centers or single user sites.

If you want something to light up, you could get a "Peggy" from EMSL (http://evilmadscience.com/tinykitlist/35-tinykitcat/71-peggy) for about $90, and then fill it out with another $30-50 in LEDs for a really cool (very custom) light-up display that anyone with a soldering iron can make. There is even a planner (http://www.destituteagenda.com/peggy_planner/) that you can use to see how many of what LEDs you need.

If they are interested in such a thing, let me know, and I can help out. It would take a couple of hours to build it, and I'm willing to barter for my time.

They've actually released version 2.0 of the kit. We are about to start open workshops at the Willoughby and Baltic (http://willoughbybaltic.squarespace.com/) for members where you would have access to a soldering iron and tools to make it. You can create animations with the new one. So you could have an easy Open/Closed sign with basic graphics. It would only cost about $150 or so in parts total.
