O, woe! No mo' Boloco after tonight

Hi all,

We're having a farewell party tomorrow night (Monday, that is) from 6-8pm.

I can relay details in person if you're interested at that time. Trust me that nothing saddens me and the team more than having to leave Davis.

Kids eat free tomorrow [Monday] evening, and everyone else pays $3 for burritos and smoothies. And maybe we'll even pop a bottle of bubblies or two :)

We've met some wonderful people at Davis, and while we're sad that it didn't work out (our first in nearly 12 years) we enjoyed the time we were here.

Sad. Sad. I ate there at least weekly, if not more, with my kids. It was so great that they could play and it had yummy kid-friendly food. Alas, the other locations, even if they were easily accessible to us don't have a playspace.

That's really too bad. I stopped by on my way home from the JFK Pool. Now I'm going to need to find somewhere else to stop.

I wonder why the location failed? Just too much burrito competition in the square?

So terribly sad, and a significant loss to Davis Square. Despite many people labeling it as "just another burrito place," Boloco tried hard to participate and integrate into the local community and had a unique presence with a "do the right thing" attitude.

Boloco, if you're reading:
If I wasn't abroad right now, there's no way I'd miss the going away party. All the best for your future success in the Boston area, and hopefully someday you will return to Davis in a more ideal location.

See you as regularly as possible at your Harvard location, Boloco points card in hand.

Damn. First O Naturals, and then Boloco? Is that place cursed or something? I just recently moved to the Davis area from Arlington and Boloco was going to be my preferred hookup for a quiet place to work with good food and free wifi. Even when I was in Arlington, I'd bike out for a smoothie every now and then. =:(

Sry to hear this - but frankly I rarely went there because the physical aspects of the space are horrendous (noise/sound mainly). I hope whatever moves in there, if it is a public space, does something to mitigate that.

Aw poo. I missed the thread on Thursday, so this is the first I heard about the closing.

I'm really surprised, actually. Last I heard, Boloco was going to use the basement area of the Davis location to make their sauces & salsas, so they were assured they'd stay open.

I'm not sure what happened -- the place seemed well-trafficked, the staff improved hugely since they opened -- but I'm sad to see it go. Lord knows I ate enough burritos there!
