If you're taking your adorable chocolate lab out for a stroll on the bike-path on a lovely Sunday afternoon, please protect your dog and other people using the path and keep him on a leash.
I witnessed an almost-accident at close range as the dog ambled from one side of the path to another, forcing a bicyclist to slam on his brakes and stop hard to avoid hitting him.
He doesn't know any better, he's just a dog, doing what dogs do. You, on the other hand, should.

Date: 2008-07-14 04:02 pm (UTC)If I'm going to drive to a dog park, I'm going to go someplace like Sheepsfold in The Fells (which I believe is also technically an on-leash park).
Basically, the city needs a dog park in the west. The two additional parks that have been proposed are also in the east.

Date: 2008-07-14 04:12 pm (UTC)What were the people in western somerville doing before nunziato went off leash, if they wanted to let their dog off leash?
the same as they are now, breaking the law and endangering people.
I think som|dog (http://somdog.org/) needs to conduct an education campaign along the path, reminding bad owners of dogs that they are ruining the image of dog owners in the city.
