Potentially lost kitten?

davis_squareI was walking toward Liberty Avenue from Hall Avenue and I saw a small kitten on the sidewalk. I'm not sure of her age or what breed, but her tag read the name Cairo and there was a 978 or 918 number that I couldn't completely read, because the cat decided to bolt.
I could be totally wrong, but I'm assuming she was lost because she seemed awfully little to be roaming around the block.
