Tonight at around 9:30pm, it seems that somebody was struck by the T in the Davis Square stop. I was in the station at the time it happened and heard the train's horn blaring, but I did not actually see the incident occur with my own eyes so I can't say for sure exactly what went on. A woman behind me on the escalator saw it and advised me "not too look and scare myself", but she indicated that somebody had been hit.

This is all I know about it so I don't want to go around spreading false assumptions about the incident. It has however, really been weighing on my mind so if anybody has any further facts about what happened I would appreciate being filled in. I'm sure there are other Davis residents who are also concerned.

Thanks.

EDIT: All is well in the world! The person is OK! Thanks for filling me in!

Considering the T was running there absolutely fine at 9:45, when I boarded a train at Davis... I sincerely doubt that was what happened. Also considering there was only one fire truck outside.

I was there

Saw a guy lying on the boarding platform, conscious but unfocused. First responders surrounded him and kept him talking, then he was taken out on a backboard. Train moved on.

What Was That?

I've created a new tag "Whatwasthat?" precisely for all these posts where somebody thinks they saw something, but they're not sure what they saw and want somebody else to fill them in.

Also applicable to posts about airplanes, fireworks, and strange buildings.

Is there a way for me to apply that tag retroactively to an older post of mine?

Yep - You can tag any post that you made at any time.

And so can anyone else.

Sure. Go back to that post, and select edit tags, and apply it to the post!

I'd also been wanting a tag for the various "commotion" posts we get here. Sirens, circling helicopters, fireworks, parades, big traffic snarls, etc.

But do "strange buildings" really go in the same category as these? Biggest difference: the strange building will be asked about for decades but all the other situations are just for the moment. We have "local landscape" for buildings.

Well, I see your point, but I meant it in the sense of 'I saw thing X and don't know what it was'... which I suppose could fit both tags. I see it as denoting mysteries of a sort.

This is a cool new tag. zmg, we already have a "noise" tag.

Well i always thought of the "noise" tag as for annoyances, not things that make you wonder, "wow, where are all those sirens going to?"

And I just went through noise, local landscape, and local characters, adding your new tag to some of the posts in those categories.
