Yes, it's that time of year again!

I have access to as many solvent boxes i can get my hot little hands on at work. However, as fellow bibliophiles can attest, big boxes for moving books are RUDE to your movers.

Does anybody have a stash of smaller boxes they have been meaning to get rid of, suitable for moving books and not bruising the crap out of arms, and leaving fingers mashed and without feeling?  I suspect something like 50 % of people in the great DS area moved about 2.5 weeks ago, and some of you still have boxes to get rid of.  I know i can go to stores to get boxes, but honestly, i'd rather help actual people out with their box recycling/regifting.  Let me help you! :D

I can pick them up on weeknights in the coming week, or pretty much anytime during awake hours after next Thursday.

Thanks!

I suggest checking with your local liquor store, drug store, and/or grocer. There may be other useful suggestions under the "moving" tag, which I just added.

I was going to say, liquor stores are your friend. Marty's in Allston (admittedly not local) has an entire wall of them right next to the exit.

I've got several boxes I liberated from Borders for moving my books. You are welcome to them.

various sizes, some bank box sized, which can be books on bottom, and lighter stuff on top.

I know this isn't what you're looking for, but just to put it out there: usedcardboardboxes.com ships you, well, used cardboard boxes in bundles according to apartment/house size. These generally have been used by retailers to send their merchandise to their stores (when we used them, there were a few Banana Republic boxes, for instance) but they come in all shapes and sizes. If anyone's planning a move and needs lots of boxes, not just one type, I recommend these folks!

my books are still in mine, but pilfered them from my job...at a bookstore. they, not surprisingly, always have the best sizes for moving books (and are generally drowning in cardboard themselves...)

I also have many boxes from a recent move. Oh, the boxes, the boxes. There are both the lidded banker-box variety, as well as the standard Gentle Giant kind. Email me at my lj username at comcast dot net.

when i moved, i got boxes for my books from....wait for it...bookstores! hehe. borders downtown (which was on my way home every day) put out book and magazine boxes every night - flattened and taped in bundles - on the washington street side of their plaza (across from the old south meeting house). down the way, strawberries, or whatever it's called now, also put out empty boxes almost every night which were great for cds.

so, if you're still needing book boxes, i totally agree to check out your local bookstore like others have said.
