Break-ins on thursday?

I walked by Cibiline Friday morning and saw a big board over the door. apparently they had a break in sometime Thursday night (i walked by around 10PM Thursday night and i didn't notice the door like that). My mom was in town and she went in to ask what happened and apparently she said there were other break-ins around Davis that night too??? One by gun-point? I didn't see anything posted about this yet, but did anyone else hear about this or know what happened?

That's awful, especially as she's preparing to move the store to Boston next month.

I know! Luckily she said nothing was stolen and I talked to someone at Dave's Fresh- they said they were lucky and didn't get broken into, but they hadn't heard about the other break ins. So I'm wondering where they were?

If nothing was stolen it's not a break-in, it's just vandalism.

I would imagine that if you break into a property, it's a break-in. Just not a robbery.

I see, so there's evidence that someone actually entered the store, rather than just breaking the window? It sucks when not even a thief wants the clothes in your store.

I don't know if this was a break-in, or if anyone entered the store, but I am pretty sure that nothing actually needs to be stolen for it to be considered a break-in.

yeah the board over the front door (not window) just had the name and number of the emergency service that put the board up. I agree though, doesn't really matter took anything or not- they could have tried but maybe the register was empty and left? You know? They still broke-in.

yah, breaking and entering are two things, I believe, not one.
