Somerville celebration - and road closures - on July 1

Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone cordially invites the citizens of Somerville to come and enjoy two events for “Summertime in
Somerville” at Trum Field.

Revisit your childhood as we kick off the Fourth of July celebrations with a fireworks display on July 1, 2004. The City will provide patriotic music at 7:00 pm and the fireworks will begin at 9:15 pm. The raindate will be July 10, 2004.

In order to ensure public safety, several road closures and parking bans outlined below will be in effect.

Broadway from Ball Square to Magoun Square: No parking from on either side from 4:00 pm - midnight. Street
closed from 6:00 pm - midnight

Cedar Street from Morrison Avenue to the Bridge: Traffic will be restricted to local access only from 6:00 pm -
midnight

Cedar Street form the Bridge to Broadway: Street will be closed from 6:00 pm - midnight. No Local Access and
No Parking

Franey Road: Street will be closed from 4:00 pm - midnight. No Parking. Restricted area authorized personnel
only.

Ryan Road: Resident access only. No parking on street from 4:00pm - midnight. No access to street from 6:00
pm - midnight.

The following routes will be affected by this diversion:

Route 80 – Lechmere Station to Arlington Center
Route 89 – Sullivan Station to Clarendon Hill

Continue straight across Magoun Square on Medford Street
Medford Street becomes Main Street @ Tufts Square (firehouse on right)
Continue onto Main Street
Left on Harvard Street (1st set of lights)
To Warner Street
