Unclaimed bike auction?

Many years ago, around 1996, I went to a police auction in Somerville where they auctioned off stolen bikes that had never been reclaimed - does anyone know anything about this, if they still do this? Thanks!

(I'm looking for a cheap 3-speed bike to noodle around the neighborhood on).

I'd call the police departments of the towns around where you're living now and ask them.

I'll have to find the exact address. There is a guy in my neighborhood who fixes up old bikes and sells them. Reasonable price ranges too. I asked him what he charges and he quoted me 35 to 40 dollars for a bike. I know he's on Hanson St in Somerville. Not hard to miss as there yard is the only one filled with bikes.

Not a clue, but if you end up buying a bike new, my husband and I just bought Huffys from Toys R Us for $60 each. Of course this depends on your definition of cheap :-).

Yes it is, thank you! My former roommate who is an amazing artist did the design for me. And now that I have one, I want more!! :)
