It's been a couple of years and I'm still mourning for Dolly's. Is there any late night food near Davis Square these days? (Things like Dunkin' Donuts and McDonald's do not count!)
I heard that Dolly's had to close because the property owner wanted to renew the lease at a higher rate that they couldn't afford. That could just be a rumor, but it's a plausible one.
"late night" is not exactly the same thing as "24 hour". Dolly's wasn't 24 hours, for example. And Waltham had, for a few years, a place called The Bagel Depot which was closed in the afternoon but open all night. Waltham generally doesn't have late night places because they restrict how many hours in a day a business can be open (except for the grandfathered Dunkin' Donuts), but Bagel Depot got around that by having their off hours in the middle of the day.
Re: Nothing that you could reach on the T after 12.
