NSTAR and gas meters
Feb. 1st, 2009 10:36 amI've been getting notices from NSTAR, saying that they have to replace my gas meter because it's a bit old. But there does not seem to be a penalty for not doing so. I wonder if old meters are likely to over- or underestimate gas usage. Has anyone else received any of these notices?

Date: 2009-02-01 05:29 pm (UTC)you'd think they could use, I don='t know, modern technology or something, to give you more specifics, since there's no direct benefit to you for not getting it done.
when they did finally come, it was like 10 minutes, though.

I got them replaced when they requested it to me, but next time I'm going to wait and do all three in the house at the same time.

Date: 2009-02-01 06:24 pm (UTC)The person on the phone was nice enough about it, but for some reason NStar doesn't seem to understand that multi-family houses exist. I don't know what they do for apartment complexes. Does every tenant set up a different time for the gas company to come out?
