Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!

It would be appropriate if they showed up at the Joshua Tree after, but I can see them being Burren types.

No F-ing way! Oh, what I wouldn't give. But I'm no good at winning anything on the radio.

Ditto. I might just have to hang out outside hoping to catch a glimpse, and perhaps throw myself at The Edge's feet.

Well, if you were around when Bruce Sprinsteen did 2 surprise shows in 2003 @ The Somerville Theater, well, it'll be a lot like that!

basically a big mess of people milling about..

Those weren't surprise shows, but they were rather expensive, at $500/ticket. (I bought one for my sweetie. Not a pair, just the one. Because, yeesh, $500!)

And, sadly, they didn't succeed in rescuing DoubleTake.

Any info as to if you have to win the tickets or is there anyway to buy them?

Which radio stations are giving them away?

U2?

Does that mean half of Southie is going to pour into Davis? Great-it will be like St. Patty's Day parade there too!

Why don't you bitch about the drunk Townies while you're at it, too?

If the Somerville is also showing movies in the other auditoriums that night, it's possible that you could buy a ticket to one of those and find a way to sneak into the back of the main auditorium balcony. Or at least stand outside it and listen.

Good luck with that. Word on the street is that tickets for the March 11 showing of "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" are currently going for $300 on StubHub.

Naw, I can get $8.25 tix to "He's Just Not That Into You" on TicketMaster. ;-)

This U2 show ain't happening, at least not at the Somerville.

Care to cite your sources?

Sources for the show not happening? It was speculation, not a statement of fact. I don't have any sources. I speculated. This isn't Wikipedia.

If you wanted a source for the $8.25 movie tickets, Ticketmaster.

People who Should Know are talking about it on Facebook like it's happening. Also, if you look at the Somerville's schedule, there's one fewer film showing on Wednesday 3/11 than there is the rest of the week.

I'm not going to believe it until I read about it in "Newstalk".

I give People Who Should Know an approximately 11% credibility rating. ;-)

If you go to the movie ticket-buying link for the Somerville Theatre, the site labels as "Stadium Seating on Balcony Level" any movie that is showing in Theatre 1. No movie is labelled that way for Wednesday 3/11.

From my memory of volunteering as an usher there in January, there's a locked door between the balcony lobby and the rest of the cinemas.

Date: 2009-03-05 04:05 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] plumtreeblossom.livejournal.com
But from the balcony lobby you can hear pretty well.

From: [personal profile] ron_newman
But, if that door is locked, you can't get even into the balcony lobby from the Cinema 2-5 part of the theatre complex.

The latest dish is that U2 are at the Middle East TONIGHT. A friend of mine was looking to get a police detail for an event he's putting on, and he overheard cops at the Central Square station talk about the extra detail they'd need for U2 at the Middle East.
