So did anyone here win U2 tickets on the radio? :-)

According the the two Somerville Theatre staffers I talked to last night, tonight's scheduled movies are still screening and tickets are still good if you have them. I don't know if that information will still be true tonight, but I've got my Watchmen ticket and am going to try to hear some U2 sound-bleed in the hallway, if I'm let in at all. This venture will probably end in epic failure.

According to ron_newman, MOBA is closed to the public tonight.

According to the Metro, The Burren will be broadcasting the concert live, and musician Hugh McGowan (their open mic host) will be performing U2 covers.

Damn! I wanted to go to MOBA tonight (not really).

The big winner is definitely going to be Mike's, although I would imagine the Somerville will move an awful lot of candy, soda, beer and wine.

Well, my big brilliant brainstorm was to try to listen to the concert through the ceiling of MOBA, which probably isn't soundproofed like the screening rooms are (and MOBA is under the main auditorium). But my plans are foiled, as usual.

I walked down Dover Street last night around 9:30, marveling at all of the TV news trucks covering a non-event (after all, nothing was actually happening yesterday). When I said this to the NECN reporter, he asked if he could record me, so I got about 5 seconds on NECN's report.

I know the promoters inquired about renting out Gargoyles tonight but when news broke early about the show being in Davis they decided to get a place outside the square. I read in the globe today they were busing people in from the Aquarium.

FYI, Orleans has a "DJ" playing U2 all night, and has seriously staffed up for the event.

Bu "DJ" I mean the door guy's iPod. He has about 170 U2 songs lined up and ready to go.

I live on Holland St and just called 311 to find out if I'd be able to get down my street up by teele to park my car in my driveway - I will be getting home near concert time. They had no additional information regarding parking but told me i'd probably be ok if I can show proof of address.

I'm hearing crazy rumors, even that they are playing on the roof of somerville theater - I can't see that happening.

311 told me that people camped out last night. I'm the biggest fan I know but why would you camp out the night before this show? Makes no sense to me.

I'm kinda bummed more people didn't get in, I can't understand where all the tickets went. As a person who tried to win tickets, many of the stations barely gave away 10 pairs each. I wonder who the hell are these people who are somehow on the guest list.

Anyway, I'll go out tonight and check out the action, but I'm kinda bummed to read things here and on other sites begrudging this concert. If it's not your bag of tea, get over it - it's a one time thing.

I walked by that area around 11:30 last night. Didn't see much activity, although there were three people in the theater lobby, including the creepiest old lady I've seen in quite a while.

Bonus points if they're recording a difficult documentary the bassist decides shouldn't be released.

I'm 99% sure U2 just went by my office window on Washington Street in Downtown Crossing -- unless there's someone else with a ton of black cars and an enormous police escort. Which makes sense with BostonTweet reporting they were at the Ritz on Amory with a Somerville Police escort (http://twitter.com/BostonTweet/status/1312160487).

What, you didn't go in? The sign on the theatre said that anyone who already had movie tickets could go in. (But if you didn't, all remaining movie tickets had been bought by "a private party" and were not available.)

I walked around...nothing special imo. Lots of people waiting and hoping U2 will come out afterwards. JP Licks was packed! There wasnt nearly as many people as they said on the radio/tv.

They came out and walked around behind Somerville Theater/ Davis T after the show. There were maybe 200 people waiting outside. The band walked by the crowd, shaking hands and such at a little before 11:00 I'd say. Bono signed my friend's book (the one that he wrote the forward to). They were all smiling a lot and it was very cool.

So while I didn't get into the show, I had a great spot out back and got to shake hands with and exchange salutations with Bono, the Edge and Adam after the show. Larry came out a few min later didn't shake hands but waved at everyone. I got some neat photos...so happy!

I'm a total fan girl, but I'm glad I'm old now because the 14 year old me probably would have fainted!!!!
