Does anyone of have an operational sewing machine collecting dust that you'd like to unload for an affordable fee? Serge/Sew combo would be extra bonus. Thanks.
I have one. It's old-ish (1974-era) Singer and basically collecting dust. I had it tuned up by the davis sq. sewing place several years ago, and it worked fine. Then I tried to adjust the tension to get it to sew through stretch velvet better, and now it's finicky. I think it just needs someone who actually understands sewing machines to get it working again, or another tune-up.
If this sounds interesting, email me at jadia_13 on yahoo. I'm pretty interested in unloading it so it'll definitely be affordable.
Old Singers are actually quite valuable machines because they're made with metal interior parts and last a long time (as yours clearly has), whereas modern Singers are plastic and break a lot. just FYI.
My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I had been waiting for someone to come through with a sewing machine agreed upon meanwhile not ruling out other options pending its arrival. It is in my possession and working beautifully and so I will decline your offer.
This other poster has a point about the worth of your machine.
