Boston Burger Company is now open in the space formerly occupied by Antonia's, next to JP Licks. Contrary to earlier rumors, they did not expand into the former Breathe Spa space next door; that is still vacant.

Their web site appears to be BostonBurgerCo.com. They have menus posted outside, but the menus do not list the URL. That may be just as well, since the menu on the web site is far too small to read easily (at least, for someone my age). I would e-mail them, except that the Contact Us page contains only directions, and no actual contact info.

EDIT 5:15 pm: Here's a link to a fully readable image of the menu. There's also now an e-mail address on the Contact Us page.

EDIT 4/7, 8 pm: Here's a link to a fully readable image of the menu. Dear Boston Burger Company: please don't move it again.

It's a specialty item, they probably figure they can get away with it, especially now that redbones DOESN'T do sweet potato fries.

Yeah, maybe, but don't Johnny D's and the Joshua Tree have them? [eta: Looks like Johnny D's are $7 too. It's an evil conspiracy!]

Also for interested parties, Four Burgers in Central has sweet potato fries for $1.50 for a small, $2.50 for a large.

it's harder to fry sweet potatoes to the right consistency than it is for normal potatoes, due to the higher sugar levels in the; longer frying time equals more money spent on making them, equals more cost to you.

Yeah, I've done a lot of sweet potato experimenting at home. I'm sure it doesn't cost an extra $3 per batch, though, so it's still a pretty hefty markup.

so it's still a pretty hefty markup.

So is ANY food you buy at a restaurant.

Which I realize! All I'm saying is that paying 87% of the price of a hamburger for a side of fries is extremely unusual in almost any restaurant.

Hi everyone,

I know you all have had issues with the menu on the website for Boston Burger Co. and I apologize for that! I am still working on the formatting. I basically put something together quickly so everyone could see the location, etc. Is there a way I can upload the menu file on here? Sorry, I am very new to this!

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I tried that right off the bat but the lousy tool I used won't allow the PDF format as the file is really big so I am still working out the kinks...

You might want to try just saving it at a somewhat larger JPG and reuploading. It's currently 925 pixels wide. Resizing that to about 1500 pixels wide should make it much more legible.

Awesome! My dark, pixel-guessing superpower comes in handy again.

I'm a blind person who uses the computer with synthesized speech, and I can't read the menu at all. Did you use a scanned image, as opposed to text? Images won't work for screen readers.

None of the images are scanned... please take a look at the new website...

www.bostonburgerco.com

This should have the correct menus, etc.

Thanks!

If you are with the business, do you think you could also point the Powers That Be (if they are someone other than yourself) at the rest of this thread as well? You can also add me to the list of people who are quite chagrined to see a $1 surcharge for veggie burgers.

The Taverns in the Squares (I tend towards Porter) has good sweet potato fries... Dunno what they go for, though.
