Free wireless, now at West Branch!

The Somerville PL West Branch has just implemented free wireless. I am using it to send this message. If you want free legal wireless just moments from Davis, head to the West Branch. Right now the doors and windows are open for a lovely little breeze.
For those who have not visited the West Branch yet, it is located at 40 College Avenue, across the street from the white church.

Well, that part kind of sucks for me, as I can't stand air conditioning, especially on rainy days, but in the cold weather, I'm happy to have a dry, warm spot if I happen to need it. :-)

The West Branch library is one of the hidden gems of Davis Square. I only discovered it recently since I work near a large public library elsewhere. But it actually has a decent collection and its a nice old building.

Unfortunately, the building has a number of issues such as leaks and deferred maintenance, but this is Somerville after all. Maybe some day the City can get a grant to fix it up. At least its still open.

Perhaps that something that volunteers could do.

Suppose some people here are licensed plumbers, carpenters and whatnot. Could they volunteer their time to fix things up in the building or would that be impossible because of regulations?...
