Sep. 10th, 2004 06:07 pmAside from my last comment, and on a much happier note:
the Someday Cafe is having a fundraiser next friday night
WHERE: the V.F.W. hall (located behind the Winter Hill Federal Savings Bank on Summer st.)
WHEN: FRIDAY, September 17th.
TIME: Doors are at 7 pm.
COST: $8 donation at the door (or in advance at the Someday cafe)
There's going to be lots of Food, Music and Fun.
AND a silent auction with lots of things to win including:
gift certificates from:
Redbones
Johnny D's
Redemption Tattoos
and
The Middle East
to name a few...
y'all should go and get to know your neighbors a little better.

Date: 2004-09-11 02:39 pm (UTC)Still, it's a small independently-owned business that adds a lot to the community, and I for one don't mind. Nobody who feels weird about it has to contribute, of course.

Date: 2004-09-12 10:43 pm (UTC)and we all know how hard it is to find an honest, no bullshit community in these parts...........
Someday doesn't make much profit, it doesn't even exist without the people who love it.
it is a dying rockstar, it is a humble blip on the somerville map, it's barely breaking even, but still donates to charities and offers the best coffee in the north east, at a ridiculous rate (for them to order from seattle...)
THE SOMEDAY CAFE exists so you can have a FUCKING great cup of coffee and you don't have to go to starbucks for burnt beans.
SO...... if the someday NEEDS a new floor, because the one they have now is 11 years old... and they're offering you a night of awesome music, prizes and chance to get to know your neighbors better.... don't hesitate to pay eight dollars at the door. they've given so much already......
