WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON AUGUST 15th?

We are looking for vendors, artists, jewelry-makers, tarot readers, henna artists, bands that wanna sell CD's, clothing designers, cosmetics sellers, etc, to host tables at a 40th anniversary recreation of Woodstock, hosted by the nationally-famous Paul Green School of Rock (http://www.schoolofrock.com/boston).

Info here on the event (**note: The Boston branch's event is NOT outdoor or free; there will be a $10 admission to the concert. Unlike other branches, we have a VRF - Venue Rental Fee - to contend with).

http://docs.google.com/View?id=d7vbtnq_15f8cmckcn

It is a $30 vendor fee, BYOFT (Bring Your Own Folding Table, setup wherever in the venue suits your fancy); all the proceeds of what you sell are 100% yours to keep, of course!

Let me know the name of your business, so that I can list it in promo materials. If you have a website, that too!

Checks can be made out and sent to:
Paul Green School of Rock, 120 Elm Street, Watertown, MA 02472

Event is SATURDAY, AUGUST 15th.
12:00 noon to 6:00 pm (ALL-AGES...venue holds 395 people!)

Venue:
Center for Arts at the Armory
http://www.artsatthearmory.com/
191 Highland Avenue (Davis Square area)
Somerville, MA 02143

Brookline only allows jazz to be played outdoors.

The hell? Is there a powerful jazz lobby in Brookline? That seems awfully arbitrary.

And outdoor concerts aren't allowed at all in Arlington???

That's odd, since the Arlington Chamber of Commerce used to regularly run summer concerts in the little park outside the Jefferson Cutter House. They've also had Shakespeare performances at Robbins Farm and Menotomy Rocks parks, some of which included music.

Having grown up in Arlington, I can believe it.

Arlington is kinda weird like that. Ever notice that there are no chain restaurants there? My understanding (not researched, but in keeping with my experience) is that there's some kind of city ordinance actually enforcing that, or at least making it very difficult to open, say, a McDonald's there. Mind, I kinda like the result, but still... the city government seems to have some sort of "benevolent overlord" thing going on.

Arlington used to be dry, but years ago they started handing out beer and wine licenses for restaurants, and more recently they allowed a few beer and wine stores to open as well. They're still dry in that they don't allow non-restaurant bars, package stores that sell beverages other than beer and wine, or full liquor licenses for most restaurants.

Not Your Average Joe's is a chain restaurant in Arlington Center. It's not a huge chain, but there are others scattered around the Boston suburbs and exurbs.

(BTW - Arlington is a town and not a city. If you call it a 'city' while talking to an Arlingtonian, they'll politely correct you.)

And there was a Friendly's on Broadway, until it went out of business a few years back.

(It was, admittedly, kinda assy, even for a Friendly's)

That went out of business after a hepatitis C incident which forced hundreds of customers to wait in line for a vaccine.
