Marisa on Elm
Oct. 6th, 2004 01:05 pmI finally had a chance to check out the newish Tibetan restaurant Davis Square, Marisa on Elm (next door to Cristos Pizza). The staff were incredibly pleasant and the food was reasonably priced ($42 for two people, including appetizers, entrees, one shared side, and beverages) and really delicious... I may become a regular. There is plenty of vegetarian food as well as meat dishes, ranging from traditional asian fare to spicy and unusual - something for everyone. I recommend you give it a try if you're looking for something new in the neighborhood! There are some take-out menus in a bin outside the restaurant.
42 bucks

Diva, in my opinion, BLOWS. It is so overrated. I defended Davis on here against what i mistakenly thought was a former new yorker making fun of it. Well i will always defend Davis and its places, but i must admit that my time in nyc (esp 6th st) makes me appalled at overpriced indian type food.
Diva's staff are not very professional, the food is over-priced by about $4-$6 per entre (depending on how GOOD you actually think their food to be, i find it extremely average), and people flock there because whoever designed the place had a nice eye for style to some degree.
What's my point? stay outta my booze!
No, seriously, i just had to voice my never ending surprise that people love diva. completely overrated.
what's people's take on Gargoyle's? I love sitting at the bar (best baretenders in the square along with redbones) and the rice fries, but peeps find them over priced too?
