Get excited everyone, because on Saturday October 24, Somerville is going to Thrill The World.
Be a part of an annual world-wide simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson's Thriller. Hundreds of people will come together in our very own Somerville to dance, break a world record (most people simultaneously dancing a certain dance), raise funds for the local community, and strengthen the bonds of awesomeness that exist between us all.
For more information about the Somerville event, check out our web page or our facebook group. When you just can't contain your excitement anymore, register for the Somerville event!
Before arriving on the big day in October, you should work on learning the dance. Go here to watch step-by-step instructional videos. If learning from an instructional video sounds hard or not fun, we will be hosting workshops in the Somerville area over the coming weeks where you can learn the dance in person and for free! (check our site or facebook group regularly for updates, or register to receive them via email)
For more information or to get involved, please feel free to email me at ttw09Somerville.MA(at)gmail(dot)com

Date: 2009-09-15 03:29 pm (UTC)We don't have a location finalized yet, but I will keep publicizing as we figure out the details. Anyone who has connections to an accessible, visible, lighted outdoor space with an associated indoor space for practice and inclement weather, please email me! A great examples is a gym with a nearby sports field.

Date: 2009-10-01 03:24 am (UTC)We have businesses sponsoring us on a per-zombie basis, so the more people sign up to participate in the event, the more money will go to SCC! Also everyone should go to our website and download a pledge form to raise money from family/friends/coworkers/etc. If everybody raises a little money, a lot of money will get donated!! To download the pledge form go to http://sites.google.com/site/somervillethrilltheworld/fund-raising
