The Progressive Democrats of Somerville are holding our second endorsements meeting of this election cycle Tuesday evening, making endorsements in the Alderman-at-Large race.

Our website has the answered questionnaires submitted by the candidates in these races.

Are you expecting a response from Alderman White? We've endorsed him in the past and I expect to continue voting for him, but I'd like to see his answers to the questionnaire.

I'm not sure; I can check in with Ade (as the endorsements chair, he's the one who's been in touch with the candidates).

A couple of years ago, I had to remind him that he hadn't returned a questionnaire from som|dog . I saw him outside Temple B'nai Brith this weekend and would have reminded him about PDS as well if I'd known he was late with his answers.

Ade tries multiple times, through multiple methods (phone, email, snailmail) and sends reminders several times, so I'm sure he was informed - though it's true a reminder from someone in a social setting can be the necessary kick in the pants :).

Just wondering how you refer to Rebekah Gewirtz as 'PDS-Endorsed' if you haven't held your endorsement meeting yet?

We endorsed Rebekah back at the end of July, at the endorsements meeting for contested Ward races. The result of that meeting was our endorsement of Ward 5 incumbent Mark Niedergang and Ward 4 challenger Christine Rafal for School Committee, and incumbent Rebekah Gewirtz in Ward 6, the only contested Ward Alderman race.

The meeting tonight is just for endorsements in the Alderman-at-Large race. We expect that closer to the general election we will also hold an endorsements meeting for uncontested races where candidates would like to seek our endorsement.

The result of this meeting: PDS endorsed Luis Morales, Dennis Sullivan, and Bill White.
